Diane`s BAJA / my project !!!
We are new to the buggy scene we have riden quads for several years but after wife had a stroke in 06 she is no longer able to ride, so I knew I had to find a way for her to get back on the sand. I bought this BAJA for $200, it was just a rolling chassis but I already had a 1600 DP engine and started adding goodies from there. The little bug had major carb problems the first trip. However the bug always made it back to camp under it`s own power so that makes it a good trip in our book. As of Oct 08 I have now got new paddles, steering brakes and dual carbs to put on it. May update after test running.
May 8,09 Well I FINALLY got the new carbs on over the weekend and test drove. So far after testing it down the road and then a few trips out through the pasture I am very happy with the change. 10/01/09 just completed a total engine rebuild. It is now a 1641. EVERYTHING (including the case) was replaced with new except the heads, ran out of money so had to just freshen the heads. Now has aftermarket cooler with electric fan and a real oil filter. Thanks to the assistance of the guys at Carter and sons.
