KingGlamis - 2005-12-08 08:57:07
Hey everybody, Nik here from dunebuggy.com central, I have taken over as the sites new admin.
So I just thought I would introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me.

So like I said my name is Nik and I just moved out here to chandler az. to work with chuck and the crew at DUNEBUGGY.COM, and I gotta tell ya I`m lovin it. I came from Yucca Valley Ca, which is about 20 minutes from Johnson Valley which was basically my backyard. With that said I`m no stranger to this sport so i`m out there as much as I can be.

So hit me up if anybody has any questions or maybe things they would like to see on the site

Nik G

Greetings to all!
My name is Elvin Fant. My son and I own a CNC machine shop. We got involved in the buggys just this year. We`ve manufactured several custom parts such as valve covers, clutchs, idlers in lots of 10 to 20. We want to continue to grow with the sport and expand into all areas where we can be of service and promote the sport. We are not yet knowledgeable about the ins & outs but if you know exactly what you want built we`re the guys that can deliver.
Looking forward to meeting many of you on line, events, etc.

See ya in the sand!

Hi all,
My name is Dave and I from Tx. This is my 1st buggy. It is a hand built 4 seater built in Louisiana. I did not like the fiberglass seats so I am switching to poly with 5pt. This caused me to cut off the rollcage and rebuild. Also adding disk brakes and cutting brakes. Hope to have running by Easter. We have a couple of places to run here and I will post more as I go. Car has a VW eng. but I am thinking of switching to a GM V6. Might have to build another ground up in a couple of years who knows.

Happy New Year, my name is Bill from Peoria Illinois. No place to drive a dune buggy other than in parades. i have a 70 MM Towd that needless to say has had very few miles put on it in the last 30 yrs. Still totally original, never been painted and is somewhat unique in that the factory sent a yellow tub and orange hood and fenders to the original owner. He liked the look and assembled it that way. All street legal and titled, even have original convertible top. See ya...Bill

Hey all, I am fresh to the board and to sandrails so I am hoping to get some good knowledge from all. My name is Mike and I live in mid/southern CA right by Pismo beach. I have been riding dirt bikes for a while and have always liked sandrails so I picked one up. It has a corvair engine, don`t know anything specific about it, it didn`t run when I got it but it does now though the alternator is dead, the brakes are smoked, and I have no clue what the shif tpattern is on the Corvair stick. Besides that it is a cool rail and I can`t wait to get it viable for play. The old Rochesters were crap so I put an intake together for a Holley 2 bbl 500cfm that I had sitting around. I have heard of people doing this one before. I plan on (someday) putting a TBI unit on it as I do custom EFI systems for pretty much anything utilizing GM systems. Anywho, I`m glad to find this board and I will talk to you all in the forums. Thanks.

Mike

my name is mark

i`m from Georgia. Have what I have been told is a built from a 1969 VW Bug. I have very little knolwedge on this subject right now but plans are:

1st: either add front brakes or do rear disk
2nd: figure out how to make it street legal.

I havent been able to find a search button on the forums and assume the street legal question is asked quite frequently. Could someone point me to the search button or attempt in aiding my quest.

Hi! I am calpooppy from Placerville,CA.My wife and I live at the apple hill farms scenic drive area. We love it up here.We love to drive to Lake Tahoe and much further to Dillon Beach, which has overnite camping access. We can tow or drive the Corvair powered dunebuggy....no sweat on the mountains up here.We have a four seater and has a soft-top for cooler weather. The engine is somewhat old,so I run 20-50 in it in the summer. We like to walk,pic-nic,swim and go for a taco run.We are in our late 40,s. We like to meet our neighbors often.I do artwork for T-shirts. I paint surf waves too. Our dream is to live near the Beach...cool.
